Solent Cluster

Anne-Marie is the Chair of the Solent cluster which is a globally leading collaboration that brings together private, public and non-governmental organisations who wish to collaborate to decarbonise the Solent region and beyond. Members include international energy producers with proven expertise in CCS and hydrogen technology, global manufacturers and engineering companies, energy providers, infrastructure operators, academic institutions and public sector organisations. As the only cluster on the South coast the cluster is helping to drive and implement the first major decarbonisation initiative that would substantially reduce CO₂ emissions from industry, transport and households across the Solent and Southern England.

A very experienced senior leader and chartered director she currently has a portfolio of non-executive roles operating at the very highest level in both government and in Industry with business leaders and representative bodies. This includes Chairing Maritime UK Solent bringing together the area's key maritime stakeholders to champion the Solent as a leading maritime cluster, developing international links through representation at targeted maritime events and trade missions. She also a national council member on Maritime UK which is responsible for bringing together the UK’s shipping, ports, services, engineering and leisure marine industries to drive growth by promoting the sector, influencing government and fostering collaboration.

On a broader basis she is also a non-executive board director with VIVID homes and acts as Chair of the Charitable arm VIVID Plus which provides additional investment and direct support to help VIVID customers prosper, with an ambition to invest over £21 million over the next 4 years to support vital community groups and organisations.

Until recently Anne-Marie was Chief Executive of the Solent Local Enterprise Partnership. Her work at Solent LEP involved leading the plan to advance the Solent area enabling the delivery of an investment programme worth £1.5 billion to support businesses, people, and the local economy. At the heart of this has been the investment in the development of a world class talent base, helping people at all stages in their career to build the skills they need and the promotion of the area as a hub for green innovation. In 2020 a judging panel of international maritime leaders announced Solent LEP as the winner of the National Future Skills award in maritime and in 2022 Solent LEP was awarded the Maritime UK Clean Maritime enabler award.

She has also led the work on the to develop the Solent Freeport, which was one of the first three freeports to be designated in December 2022.

A Fellow of the Institute of Directors in 2020 Anne-Marie was awarded Chartered Director of the Year for London and the Southeast.
