
Carlos Agenor Onofre Cabral is a Chemical Engineer having graduatedat the State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ), with post-graduation on Downstream ProcessEngineer and Master Degree on Kinetic Modelling of Blast Furnace CoalInjection.
For the last 5 he has been the Director at the Department ofOil and Natural Gas Exploration and Production at the Mine and Energy Ministry(MME) with important deliverables for the increase of the attractivity andoperations of the E&P of Oil & Gas sector and on the environmental andoperational safety issues in Brazil.
He is the focal point for the Carbon Management Challenge(CMC) and the Clean Energy Ministerial – Carbon Capture, Utilization andStorage (CEM-CCUS) initiatives.
He has recentlyco-ordinated the Subcommittee of CCUS for the regulation of carbon managementafter the approval of the fuels of the future law in Brazil, in order to makethe country more attractive for the investment in CCS, CCUS, BECSS and DACSS.
Before MME, Carlos worked for 12 years at Superintendency ofOperational Safety and Environment at the National Agency of Petroleum, NaturalGas and Biofuels (ANP) (ANP), dedicated to the management of operational safetyand environment of oil and natural gas exploration and production activities,with strong technical background on well drilling and well integrity managementsystems (WIMS).
Before ANP he worked for 15 years at the research centre ofthe National Steel Mill Company (CSN), 8 years on the area of tinplateproducts, heading the Innovation Centre for tinplate development and utilizationand 7 years on the coal & coke and coal injection on blast furnace.
