David is Svante's VP of Europe & the Middle East and isbased in London, UK. He leads Svante’s regional expansion and deployment of itsnext-generation sorbent-based carbon capture technology.
Before joining Svante in January 2025, David served as Headof Capital Markets at Aker Carbon Capture, engaging with financial stakeholdersand corporate partners across the CCUS value chain. He also contributed tocorporate strategy and development, including the major joint venture with SLBfinalized in 2024. David joined Aker Carbon Capture in August 2021 after nearlytwo decades in investment research at leading investment banks in London andNew York. From 2014 to 2016, he was Head of Industry and Investor Relations atAker Solutions. In finance, he focused initially on the chemicals sector beforespecializing in the global energy industry from 2006, where his team earnedhigh industry rankings. David’s most recent role in finance was as Head ofEquity Research for Europe at HSBC in London (2018-2021).
David holds an MA in Chemistry from the University of Oxfordand a PhD from the University of Cambridge. His doctoral research, supported bya major Swiss chemical company, explored the synthesis of self-assemblingorganic ‘building blocks’ in supramolecular chemistry.
