Karl Smyth is the Director for External Affairs & Strategic Policy at enfinium, a leading energy from waste business. In his role as corporate affairs lead, Karl works across a range of strategic initiatives to support the delivery of enfinium’s ambition to become a decarbonisation business powered by waste. Karl also leads on enfinium’s carbon removals strategy, bringing to market highly durable carbon removals by retrofitting enfinium’s facilities with carbon capture and storage technology.
Karl has two decades of experience working in energy, infrastructure and utilities, including bioenergy, onshore and offshore wind and nuclear power. He is a member of the UK Government’s CCUS Council and a Director of the Coalition for Negative Emissions.
