
Richard Gwilliam is a Director at Drax responsible for the future of Drax Power Station. He is leading a long-term development programme for the site including opportunities for Bioenergy with Carbon Capture and Storage (BECCS), data centres, and AI growth as well as other generation and commercial opportunities across the estate.
Richard has over 20 years of experience in promoting major infrastructure projects around the world including electricity generation and transmission, carbon capture and storage and gas. In addition to his work at Drax, Richard is a director and chair of the Humber Energy Board Limited – a company limited by guarantee that brings together the major energy businesses and decarbonisation opportunities in the Humber to deliver sustainable economic growth and a cleaner future for the region. He is also a non-executive director at the Northern Powerhouse Partnership, Hull & Humber Chamber of Commerce and sits on the strategic advisory board of Future Humber.
