Stefanie Murphy is Director for Hydrogen, HyNet and Peak Delivery at the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ). In this role she leads work to support the deployment of low-carbon hydrogen and major industrial decarbonisation projects across the UK.
Stefanie has held a number of senior leadership positions across government, including Director for Hydrogen Policy and Delivery and Director for Hydrogen and Industrial Carbon Capture. She has been at the forefront of developing and delivering the UK's hydrogen and carbon capture policies, working with industry, investors and local partners to accelerate the transition to net zero.
Before moving into hydrogen and industrial decarbonisation, Stefanie held senior roles spanning industrial energy, the Vaccines Taskforce, EU Exit delivery, nuclear policy and wider energy and climate policy. Her career has focused on complex delivery programmes, policy development and building partnerships across government and industry to achieve strategic outcomes
